Honey Can Help Heal Skin Wounds

Honey health
Honey tastes great on chicken nuggets, is the perfect sweetener for tea, and can help soothe your throat, but apparently it can also do wonders for our skin.
Although it has been used for centuries for its antibacterial properties, scientists have just recently discovered it may be better than antibiotics to treat skin infections after an injury or surgery.
In particular, Manuka honey has been found to stop one type of bacteria called Streptococcus pyogenes, which is known to “initiate infection, destroy skin grafts and persist as a biofilm.”
In fact, it didn’t take too much of the sweet goo to kill off the majority of S. pyogenes bacterial cells from wounds, which could be very useful in hospitals where infections run rampant.
