Because controversial contestant Caleb Johnson was crowned the newest American Idol winner last night!
The 23-year-old rocker was a standout since the beginning of the competition, impressing judges Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban with his thrilling vocal skills.
Caleb was clearly overwhelmed with emotions after his name was called yesterday, almost making him the first in Idol history to not sing his single in the finale episode!
Luckily, he was able to muster out a few notes in between tears and hugs from the other contestants — taking in this once in a lifetime moment with confetti and cheers!
Caleb’s debut album will be released on August 12, and he could be more excited!
Congrats, kid. Your world’s about to change!
