Where the hell are the Coca-Cola cups!?!?!
Viewers became dismayed and angry to find that the iconic Coke cups were no longer sitting across the table from the judges on Tuesday night. In their place were these orange-and-white mugs, that we thought was beer at first and a fitting tribute to Paula, but actually turned out to be a promotion for Vitaminwater Zero.
For those of you concerned that the beloved red mugs are no longer, fear not. Unlike Paula, the Coke cups will return. In fact, there was so much commotion over the jarring change that a rep from Idol issued an official statement just to calm everyone down. It reads:
“The Coca-Cola cups have been a staple on American Idol since 2002 and will not be gone for long. During the Hollywood Week episodes, Coca-Cola will share the mic with Vitaminwater Zero (a Coca Cola brand), but the Coke cups will return on the first live show on Tuesday, Feb. 23.”
