Obligatory ***SPOILER*** warning: If you didn’t watch Wednesday night’s episode of American Horror Story then STOP reading right now!
Wednesday night saw another new episode of American Horror Story, and ├óΓé¼┬ª it was about on par with last week’s outing.
While things didn’t get worse, it was just as boring and even less scary, somehow.
But anyway, we’re all still addicted, so let’s get straight to that recap!

The episode begins right where last week’s left off, with Dandy (Finn Wittrock) bringing Jimmy (Evan Peters) to Dot and Bette (Sarah Paulson). While Jimmy tries to convince Dot to leave, he suddenly recognizes Dandy as the second clown, making it clearly dangerous for them to stay in the Mott Mansion.

When they get back to camp, Jimmy sings a song because that makes sense for his character, and the twins mysteriously cover for Elsa (Jessica Lange) selling them to Gloria (Frances Conroy).

In the big top, Stanley (Denis O’Hare) tells Dell (Michael Chiklis) that he saw him at the gay bar, and proceeds to blackmail the strongman into killing one of the freaks.
While Maggie (Emma Roberts) and Jimmy consumate their (fake?) relationship, Dell tries to chloroform Amazon Eve (Erika Ervin) of all people. Things don’t go his way…

After promising Ethel that he’ll take care of Dell, Jimmy joins him for drinks back in town. They get wasted and Jimmy lets it slip that he knows Dell is his father, most likely saving his life.

As part of her blackmail, Bette receives a Marilyn Monroe-like makeover, while Dot, getting the better end of deal, gets Elsa to look into getting the twins their surgery; i.e. killing Bette.

Back in town, Penny (Grace Gummer) tells her dad that she’s running away to be with Paul (Mat Fraser), so her dad promptly tattoos her entire face and forks her tongue, to make her one of the freaks.

The episode ends with Dell attacking the easiest target, and hugging/strangling Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge) to death and handing her over to Stanley.

This was just another sub-par episode in the AHS cannon, and it could have been combined with last week’s mediocre episode to make one decent showing.
But that just wouldn’t be Ryan Murphy, now would it?
FX is taking a break from the anthology series next Wednesday, so check back in two weeks from now for another recap!
