The path did not unwind to victory for Ada Vox on American Idol Sunday, as the drag performer didn’t earn enough votes from viewers to make the Top 7.
Despite slaying a rendition of Circle of Life from The Lion King for Disney Night, the San Antonio native was eliminated — and unlike last week, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie weren’t able to step in and give Vox a happy ending.

This time, America had the final say — and, based on the fan reactions, many felt these poor unfortunate souls weren’t ready for a drag queen to win the competition. Sad, because this queen can SANG.
