On Tuesday, American Idol shared the lengthy opening sequence for the beginning of the end — AKA the premiere episode of its farewell season — and it’s giving us SO many emotions!
The powerful clip starts off by amping up the nostalgia and taking us back in time, into the homes of families across the U.S. as they watched Idols get crowned year after year!

We see countless kids inspired by FOX‘s flagship show, and watch plenty of aspiring artists practicing their craft.
The sentimental video captures comments from current judges Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban, and Jennifer Lopez as they reflect on the popular program.
And we even see Ryan Seacrest‘s very first intro over ten years ago! You know, that one time he had a co-host?
