Unsurprising news, but we think it would’ve been to her benefit to have locked this down when Idol was still on the air. You know what they say – Out of sight, out of mind!
Regardless, Pia Toscano, who was surprisingly voted off American Idol this season in one of the earliest rounds when she was poised to be in the top 3, has just signed a recording contract with Interscope Records. Of the deal, Pia excitedly said:
“I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family. [Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I’m looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true.”
See? Jimmy knew he had a good thing, even if the rest of America didn’t!
As she’ll be a part of the AI tour this summer, Pia will be using the opportunity to debut her first single, “This Time.”
Oh yeah! The tour! That will help her gain exposure with the people who didn’t vote for her to begin with! Good idea!
We kid, we kid. We’re actually very excited for her. We wish her nothing but the best with this HUGE step in her career! Good luck girl!
