The long running reality singing competition’s ratings have been sinking to DEEP depths despite the presence of Divas extraordinaire Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj…
So the big brainz behind AI reportedly decided to pull a MAJOR switch-a-roo that would have REPLACED Mariah with former popular AI judge Jennifer Lopez in hopes of scoring better viewing numbers!
AND rumor has it when Mariah heard about the plan she threatened LEGAL action.
BUT, Mariah’s rep AND the bigwigs over at FOX are completely denying reports of a quick-ratings-fix plan involving either ladies.
One spokesperson states:
“This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale.”
While producer Nigel Lythgoe expresses:
“I have not been included in any conversation regarding replacing Mariah with Jen this season.”
Hmmm!!
Well, IF the aforementioned plan WAS ever legitimate, it makes sense that people would deny something that can’t happen because of legal matters…
But most likely these allegations are complete bull poop.
Also — would bringing Captain J.Lo back really do much to save the sinking ship? Even Jenny from the Block might not have that kind of power!
