It goes without saying that Angelina Jolie is a beautiful, stunning woman, inside and out. She’s a terrific mom, a generous philanthropist and a brilliant actress. The latter made it easy for David Fincher to insist she take the lead role in his remake of Cleopatra, a role first taken on by the incomparable Elizabeth Taylor. However, though she’s certainly a skillful actress, Angie also recognizes the shoes she is about to fill and she is not so bold as to suggest that she could portray the famed pharaoh better than the woman who came before her.
In a new interview, Angelina insists that she could never overshadow Liz’s performance, saying:
“My performance will never be as lovely as Elizabeth’s.”
True, but we have faith it will be lovely in it’s own right. There’ll never be another like Miz Liz, but we think she’d be pleased to see such a reverence to the role coming from someone as talent as yourself, Angie!
So…when is this baby going to start production?!
