Artem Chigvintsev wasn’t in a good place in his dancing career in the weeks and months leading up to last Thursday’s arrest in Napa County, California on charges of domestic violence.
As we’ve previously reported, even before he was arrested last week on the felony charge of corporal injury to a spouse after an alleged incident at the home he shares with wife Nikki Garcia and their son Matteo, the dance pro was already not in the plans to compete in the most recent season of Dancing With The Stars. Now, we are learning just how badly that had been sitting with him. And how his future with the show may well be over for good after this arrest.

Per a source who spoke to DailyMail.com about the matter, Artem was ticked off for a while before the arrest that he wasn’t in the lineup for the forthcoming DWTS season. And now, after the shocking incident in NorCal seven days ago, that insider is claiming that “it looks like he will never be back” again. They explained:
“Artem is very frustrated and mad that he wasn’t asked to be on this season of Dancing With The Stars, and now it looks like he will never be back. His life professionally and personally is and has been flipped upside down.”
Yikes…
In the short-term, the DM source claims Artem is determined to prove to his wife, who was formerly known during her WWE wrestling career as Nikki Bella, that he “can be a changed man.” The insider claimed that Artem is supposedly ready for the “fight of his life” to win her back, explaining:
“He doesn’t know what his next steps are with Nikki, he has been upset for a long time and now he is in the fight of his life to clear his name and win back Nikki, but as of right now he hasn’t decided what he might do to show her that he can be a changed man.”
As you may recall, we’ve already heard rumblings of a similar sentiment floating around. But will it work???
Well… it doesn’t sound like that plan is going so well at this point. The two are barely talking, and as we’ve reported already, Artem is staying with a friend while Nikki and Matteo keep their distance and remain in the family home. This new insider also added:
“They currently have limited dialogue with each other. If and when he sees Matteo, Nikki wants it supervised. Her trust has been thrown out the door and she is very angry with Artem, he has an uphill battle ahead of him. The whole thing is a mess.”
Well, they’re definitely not wrong about that last line. As for Nikki’s future, she only sees one thing up ahead: divorce. The insider explained:
“She has tried and tried to make it work, but she feels divorce is the only option. It hurts but Nikki is such a strong woman, and she is doing what is right for her, and for Matteo.”
BTW, she’s not the only one seeing divorce as the inevitable conclusion here. Back on Monday, a second DailyMail.com source spoke to the outlet about Nikki’s twin sister Brie Garcia. It’s Brie who is said to supposedly want her twin to leave Artem for good — and she’s apparently not holding back in that opinion. The second source explained:
“Nikki’s sister Brie is disgusted, shocked, disappointed and just sad that this happened. She loves Artem, and for this to be going down is so out of the realm of possibility of the person who she knows. Brie is very concerned about it all and is there for her sister at all costs. … Brie, who is obviously the closest to Nikki, as anyone would, is telling her to leave Artem, if this is as bad as it seems, and if it happened before, once she finds out everything that happened, she will be the first to tell Nikki to leave him.”
Whoa!
It need not be said how close Nikki and the former Brie Bella are. The twins have spent their whole lives in close quarters, and rose to wrestling fame together. We have to imagine that Brie’s opinions will weigh heavily on Nikki’s mind, ya know?
