Billboard's Powerful New Cover Calls For Common Sense Gun Violence Legislation -- With The Backing Of 200 Celebs!

Good for these celebs for throwing their full weight behind change!
Today, Billboard released its new cover, and instead of focusing on an album or celeb, or new artist, it’s on something far more important: gun control legislation.

The mag’s cover is an open letter directed to Congress asking for one very simple thing: sensible, simple changes on gun control legislation.
The cover (above) is signed by SO many musicians and entertainers — 194 of them to be exact — in demanding legislation, and the powerful open letter is being sent to every single chief of staff of all 535 Senators and Congressmen and women.
Celebs from Yoko Ono and the two surviving BeatlesPaul McCartney and Ringo Starr — to Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Zayn, Alicia Keys, and SO many more have attached their name to it.
And what they want is VERY simple and sensible.
As you can see, it’s outlined in their open letter (below):

“As leading artists and executives in the music industry, we are adding our voices to the chorus of Americans demanding change.
Music always has been celebrated communally, on dance floors and at concert halls. But this life-affirming ritual, like so many other daily experiences—going to school or church or work—now is threatened, because of gun violence in this country.
The one thing that connects the recent tragedies in Orlando is that it is far too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on guns. We call on Congress to do more to prevent the gun violence that kills more than 90 Americans every day and injures hundreds more, including:
-Require a background check for every gun sale
-Block suspected terrorists from buying guns
Billboard and the undersigned implore you├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥the people who are elected to represent us├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥to close the deadly loopholes that put the lives of so many music fans, and all of us, at risk.”

Let’s see if Congress gets the message on the very same day that a powerful sit-in about which celebs were extremely passionate made waves in our legislature.
That sit-in fizzled out earlier this afternoon — Democrats weren’t able to capture the votes needed even for the sensible gun control measures these celebs are demanding — but obviously, so many people are tired of the Senate’s do-nothing stance on gun violence.
