This will certainly be one birthday that Brandy will never forget.
The singer celebrated her birthday at Ne-Yo‘s 4th Annual Midnight Brunch at the Supper Club in West Hollywood, which just happened to be the same night Whitney Houston died.
She and her brother Ray J had the small celebration after attending the Clive Davis pre-Grammy event and yes, it was a melancholy event for everybody.
Just a few hours before Whitney’s death, Ray J had tweeted out:
Happy BirthDay to my beautiful Sister Brandy! I love you 4Life And I’m alwayz here 4 you! #happybirthdayBrandy 2/11
According to a source, Ray J was seen sobbing uncontrollably when videos of Whitney were projected onto large screens. Brandy was seen comforting him and telling him, “I understand.”
Shortly after they quickly jetted out the door leaving the cake untouched.
Sad.
During the evening, Ne-Yo said:
“The wonderful thing about Whitney Houston was she was the kind of person that you could not keep down. She went through bumps and bruises in her career, in her life, whatever the case may be. That’s human, everybody goes through it, but it’s not about the fall — it’s about the get back up. That’s what Whitney Houston was about, the get-back-up. So even in this situation she wouldn’t want us to be sad right now, she would want us to celebrate the great thing that her life was as well, as opposed to mourning her death.”
Yup, all of Hollywood is in mourning.
