Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a British TV chef and he certainly has a distinct opinion when it comes to eating animals.
He believes that if you are willing to eat a pig then you should also be willing to eat a puppy.
Chef Hugh said:
“You can├óΓé¼Γäót object, unless you also object to the farming of pigs. It├óΓé¼Γäós an artificial construct of our society, a cultural decision, to make pets out of dogs and meat out of pigs. Both animals could be used the other way round, although pigs probably do make better meat than dogs and dogs better pets than pigs, but it├óΓé¼Γäós not a foregone conclusion.”
We guess we can understand that but COME ON, puppies are WAY cuter than pigs!
Also you could just listen to PETA and not eat either of them.
Chef Hugh was asked wheter he’d actually ever eat a dog or a cat, and he said:
“Not unless I was on the point of starvation. In principle, but not in practice, I have no objection to a high-welfare organic puppy farm.”
So don’t expect chef Hugh to be cooking up any puppy bacon anytime soon. Thank goodness.
