Josh Brolin is opening up about a truly traumatic childhood memory — something intended to make him tougher… but only succeeded in scarring him for decades.
The Dune star appeared on Graham Bensinger‘s In Depth podcast earlier this month and dished on what we can probably safely call the LEAST favorite dish of his entire life. Reflecting on a previous interview Graham did with Josh’s dad James Brolin, the host brought up a childhood story he heard about Josh exclaiming to his father that he was eating “the best ribs” of his life one night for dinner — until he found out what they were. Right away, Josh demeanor changed! He said:
“Did he tell you the pig story? What a f**king d**k. God, man.”
The 56-year-old goes on:
“This is a horrible story, man. Me raising pigs, Oink and Snort, those were their names. I helped raise these pigs and then we’re eating dinner one night and my dad — it’s amazing to me that he would tell you that story, it makes him look so bad — he said, ‘Guess what you’re eating?’ I said, ‘What?’ He said, ‘Either Oink or Snort.’”
OHHH, that’s F**KED UPPPP!

He went on:
“I was like, ‘What?’ And then he went, ‘Yeah, that’s what we’re eating. That’s who we slaughtered.’ I was like why would you tell a kid that? It makes no sense! Why would you tell your kid that with any semblance of celebration? Or was he just looking to have an impact?”
Oof, that’s ROUGH. You can hear him talk more about it (below):
It’s not clear when exactly this was — but we think we can safely guess it was before Barbra Streisand became his stepmom. He was already in his 20s at that time, and he definitely sounds like a literal child here. Maybe if she’d been in the picture a little sooner he would have been spared such a horrible story? We can’t imagine Babs giving the green light to such a cruel lesson.
What are YOUR thoughts, Perezcious readers??
