If Britney Spears fans want someone to blame for her possible retirement, they can blame Jamie Spears.
Because, according to an Us Weekly source, the Glory songstress wants to boycott performing and music-making out of resentment for her controlling father!
The insider tells the outlet that the 38-year-old has been enjoying her time away from the spotlight, and “doesn’t want to work” as a form of protest against her conservatorship, which her 67-year-old dad has controlled since 2008.

The source revealed:
“Britney has expressed that she doesn’t want to work again because she doesn’t want to continue to essentially keep herself under the conservatorship.”
Especially when her father has given himself a hefty monthly allowance for overseeing her multi-million dollar estate, her personal affairs, her relationships, and even her taxes.
The insider added:
“Britney resents that her dad is given a monthly allowance which is around $10,000 a month for his services overseeing her finances.”
So, what’s a pop icon to do? Well, for starters, she’s not planning on recording new material anytime soon.
A second source told the outlet that the superstar “is in no rush” to make new music, noting:
“The thought barely crosses her mind. This is the longest break between album cycles in her career — it’s coming up on four years since Glory was released — and she’s perfectly content with it.”
We can’t say the same for her fans, but do what you gotta do, Brit!
These new statements come weeks after the Grammy winner’s youngest son Jayden claimed that she might quit the music biz entirely. As we reported, the 13-year-old, whom Brit shares with ex Kevin Federline, spilled major tea about his momma in a juicy Q&A sesh on Instagram Live, during which he said he hasn’t seen the performer “doing a lot of music at all” recently.
He shared:
“I remember one time I asked her, I said, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ and she was like, ‘I don’t know, honey. I think I might just quit it.’ I’m like, ‘What? What are you saying? Like, do you know how much bank you make off of that stuff?”
Jayden also confessed he wasn’t sure whether or not the Womanizer singer was “being controlled” by her father, but made it clear that he was not a fan of Jamie.
Sounds like most of the Spears family feels the same way…
