Liz Hurley and her husband, Arun Nayar have been recently accused of underpaying their Indian maid. They were reportedly paying the live-in maid, Violet d’Souza, less than $2.00 an hour! The legal minimum wage is London is ├é┬ú5.52, or about $8.17.

Violet, 31, was said to be working up to 70 hours a week and earning close to nothing. She would often work from 7:30am and at times not finish until 3:00am. She was brought to Britain by Nayar’s family.
According to reports, d’Souza was going to take her case to an employment tribunal this Friday, but has dropped the claim after reportedly being offered a five-figure settlement agreement.
Violet was claiming “breach of contract, failure to supply a written statement of terms, race discrimination and unfair dismissal.” She was also claiming back pay.
Hurley is said to be worth about $20 million, and her husband has millions himself, coming from a wealthy Indian textiles family.
For a couple worth in the millions, they couldn’t even afford to pay their maid minimum wage?
