Ten years after becoming famous on American Idol, season two runner up Clay Aiken is throwing dirty word bombs towards the show that created his career!
During a recent interview, the singer/almost celebrity apprentice was asked whether or not he’d return to the American Idol stage to celebrate his 10 year milestone.
Clay expressed:
“I don’t know that I would commemorate it on the show. I don’t know that they did it with Justin Guarini and all those folks. But Idol back in those days was about the contestants. Kelly [Clarkson] and Justin and Tamyra [Gray] and Nikki McKibbin, they were all the stars of the show. And when I was on, Ruben [Studdard] and myself and Kimberley Locke were the stars of the show. Now Idol is about the judges. I don’t even know if they remember there are contestants anymore.“
Ooohhhh sh*t! So he’s not exactly insulting the actual show, he’s just calling the new judges SELFISH!
LOLz!!
But it does seem like the show has gone from something that nurtures and inspires fresh talent to something that serves as a platform where the judges simply promote themselves, or where they garner more publicity through scandalous actions…
The Nicki Minaj feud with Mariah Carey being a perfect example.
Ah well, that’s just what you get when you employ judges who are world renowned DIVAS!
