Being a parent is a really tough job.
You wanna set a good example for your kids, but hey you’re only human!
Courtney Barber understands your pain, and she’s here to help you conquer your goals!
Here’s a question from a reader who asked Courtney:

Hi Courtney,
I am a fairly lazy, in-active parent and I am struggling with trying to put my best foot forward when raising
my children to be healthy individuals. As a role model – what kind of strategies do you think I could set to motivate us both?
Thanks
Lynn

Courtney’s Answer:

Hi Lynn,
First of all it’s great to see that you are looking to make changes to your lifestyle, so that your children are inspired and motivated to live a healthy life. The best thing you can do is actively make changes in your current habits and lead by example.
Start to make health a priority in your own life, by cleaning out all the “junk” in your fridge, buying a few healthy eating magazines or cookbooks and adding the recipes to your weekly menu. Schedule time in your diary to exercise daily and if you need the extra motivation, invest in a personal trainer or ask a friend to workout with you. As fitness starts to become a regular factor in your life, your children will notice!
Get them involved in the kitchen when you are cooking healthy meals and schedule in some “family fit time” each week, whether it be going for a walk or even setting up a little exercise routine to do in the backyard with them. A great way to all get involved is to make a chart and write down weekly fun fitness activities you can all do together. That way you can all motivate each other to get involved and participate – it will become part of your lifestyle.

Holy crud!
Those are some AMAZING ideas.
