Ethan Slater's Wife Lilly Jay SLAMS Ariana Grande For Making Her Family 'Collateral Damage'

Well, finally we’re hearing from the person who most deserves to speak out in this case: the woman scorned.

Ever since we learned Ariana Grande‘s new boyfriend was a married man, we’ve been so heartbroken for his wife. Ethan Slater reportedly left his wife Lilly Jay just last week — after engaging in a “sloppy” affair with Ariana on the set of the film adaptation of Wicked. From what we’ve heard they were none too careful about hiding their new love on set — but only when Ari’s divorce news hit the stands did he finally come clean to the missus — who also happens to be his high school sweetheart AND the mother of his child. Yeah, they welcomed a son last August. Ugh!

So what does Lilly have to say about all this? She finally spoke out on Thursday, telling Page Six she’s understandably incensed that she was pulled into the tornado that is Ariana Grande’s tempestuous love life. She unloaded:

“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage.”

Ouch! She added that “the story is her and Dalton,” referring to Ari’s split from Dalton Gomez — the news story that led to the revelation of the affair.

Lilly says she’s now just trying to move on and be “a good mom” — albeit a single one — to the baby Ethan is leaving her with. Wow.

Innerestingly Lilly didn’t pick the friendliest of outlets to speak to. They juxtaposed her brief comments with responses from sources claiming the spurned wife was “calling every news outlet to get this story out.” Sorry, what?? Since when? We’re sure People and Us and everyone would LOOOOOVE to have quotes from this woman, she would not have to try hard. That’s B.S. They also said she’s acting completely differently toward Ethan behind the scenes — meaning without the hostility we imagine. That insider said:

“She’s telling Ethan and others that she only cares about protecting their child.”

That actually does sound in line with the quotes, so… Huh??

Finally, Page Six‘s other source says something that makes us discount them entirely:

“She’s rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong.”

Sorry, WHAT?! Didn’t do anything wrong?? That’s right, this source claims Ethan and Lilly had already been separated for two months before he and Ariana started dating. That clearly doesn’t make any sense when you view the timeline — and it surely wouldn’t be the first time someone tried to fudge the numbers to make infidelity look like moving on quickly.
