Former Idol Contestant Says American Idol Has Gotten Soft And Too Nice

Chris Daughtry came in fourth place on the fifth season of American Idol.
Since then, Daughtry, the band, has skyrocketed into stardom.
But the former Idol contestant says that the contest has gotten tame this past year.
Maybe the show misses Simon?
Chris went on to say the following about the show:

I think last season everyone was being a little too fluffy with their comments. I really felt like they were too nice overall. Criticism is a welcome thing and I think it was necessary for me to grow. Sometimes you have got to get to the truth.

Since the show, Daughtry has released three albums and even performed during the 2011 World Series.
Reviews for the newest Album, Break This Spell, have been raving, comparing the band to Bon Jovi.
Chris is the third highest selling Idol contestant.
Maybe the show should listen to one of its stars.
