It’s not every day a person is able to move on from a horrific ordeal that happened to them in the past, but Gabrielle Union was able to do just that!
The Being Mary Jane actress was raped at gunpoint when she was just 19 years old at a shoe store, yet she did not continue living her life like a victim.
In fact, Gabrielle got tired of the treatment she got and spoke about that past incident on The View recently.
She said:
“I got sick of people letting me off the hook. Being a victim is so comfortable. It makes you lazy.
I hated the cloak of victimhood. I realized they were going to allow me to be a victim, and not succeed and not to achieve my goals.”
Gabrielle put the past behind her and was able to move forward and become the successful actress and philanthropist that she is today.
We applaud the actress for being such a strong woman for young girls and people all around to look up to!
