Game Of Thrones was once a show where the most beloved characters died — but this season is proving that even the most dead characters can still end up surviving in the right circumstances.
Though the latest episode of the HBO fantasy hit was mostly a mid-season filler, it still kicked off with a big reveal — the return of a character believed to be long gone.
And unlike the painstakingly slow revival of Jon Snow in the beginning of the season, this supposedly dead character was already alive and chopping wood when we met him.

SPOILERS!
Before the main titles, we found out the Hound (Rory McCann) is still alive and kicking in Westeros!
That’s right! After getting the sh*t kicked out of him by Brienne of Tarth in season 4, we thought Sandor Clegane was a total goner. But now, we know the Hound has been busy building barns with a bunch of religious Westerosian hippies.
Ian McShane finally made his much-discussed debut as Brother Ray, a religious leader who found the Hound near death and fully healed him. As his flock raises barns, Brother Ray preaches about regrets of past violence and debauchery — a past the Hound wants to leave behind too, perhaps?
But that tranquillity didn’t last long, because the Hound later found his hippie friends slaughtered and Brother Ray hanged — most likely by three riders who passed by earlier that day.
In the final shots of the episode, Sandor grabbed his axe, presumably going after them — because in Westeros, getting reaquainted with your killer instincts is just like riding a bike!
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
After she was born-again into the religious cult of the High Sparrow, it seemed like Margaery (Natalie Dormer) was completely brainwashed — she admitted to not even wanting to get freaky with her teenage husband anymore because she didn’t feel those sins desirable.
But when the HS warns her that her incorrigible grandmother Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) could be thrown into the Sept dungeon next, Marg insisted that her granny take the first ship to Highgarden where she would be safe.
During their discussion, Margaery secretly slipped Olenna a picture of a rose — the sigil of House Tyrell — to ensure that she hadn’t gone off the deep end just yet.
The Baddest Queen of The North
We may have been reintroduced to the Hound in this episode, but the real scene stealer was Lady Lyanna (Bella Ramsey)!
The Starks began their campaign to gather the north against the Boltons, but raising an army proved to be quite the undertaking.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) were able to secure the Wildlings. Plus, a mini army of 62 men from Lady Lyanna of House Mormont — 10-year-old badass ruler of Bear f*cking Island and true ally to House Stark!
But aside from that, the North didn’t seem to remember its allegiance to House Stark, so Sansa spotted a raven and secretly penned a note — and we can only guess what slimy political manipulator she’s seeking out to help them out of a pickle…
How Theon Got His Groove Back
Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) has been a sulking mess ever since he got his precious penis cut off, and his sister Yara (Gemma Whalen) has had enough of his miserable attitude!
While stopping at a brothel, Yara told Theon he needed to get over that whole being endlessly tortured thing and just enjoy life again before they travel to Mereen to make an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen — so she made him chug a beer before Yara went to go “f*ck the t*ts” off one of the wharf whores.

Those Greyjoys love their women! Either way, it looks like Theon will finally put those Reek days behind him and grow some (metaphoric) balls.
A Girl Should Be More Careful
Finally, it was looking like Arya (Maisie Williams) was making her Braavos escape from The Faceless Men after deciding not to follow their orders. But of course, a girl can’t get away that easily.
After securing a high-class cabin on a boat home — Arya was ambushed by the Waif in disguise and stabbed several times before escaping by plunging into the canal.
While this attack would make us fear for the life of any other character, we know it’s going to take a lot more than that to take out the young Stark girl — as she was last seen wandering bleeding through the streets looking for help.
