While we’ve been wondering who would scoop up the last spot, it seems Harry Connick Jr. wasn’t wasting any time by doing some wondering.

We already told you he was under consideration, but now it seems he’s so damn close to being locked down.

It’s rumored final negotiations with his contract are being worked out, so that he’ll be sitting next to Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban next season!

Considering the show lost Dr. Luke in a heartbeat, Idol execs better finalize Harry’s contract ASAP before he slips away as well!
