Harry Styles Will Ease Your Coronavirus Anxiety With His Tiny Desk Concert - Watch!

If you’ve been feeling down, Harry Styles is here to cheer you up!

The 26-year-old headed to NPR for his highly-anticipated Tiny Desk Concert, where he performed stripped-down versions of Cherry, Watermelon Sugar, To Be So Lonely, and Adore You off of his recently released Fine Line album.

Before jumping into Watermelon Sugar, the former One Direction member explained the inspiration behind the song, first noting the title derives from the book In Watermelon Sugar by Richard Brautigan. Rocking his grandma-esque pale blue sweater featuring a chicken, he elaborated:

“It’s probably the longest it’s ever taken me to finish a song. We kind of liked it when we first had it, but I really hated it for a long time and it kept coming back into the mix.”

As for the story behind it, he shared:

“It’s kind of about, like, that initial, I guess, euphoria of, like, when you start seeing someone, you first start sleeping with someone or just, like, being around someone and you have that kind of excitement about.”

And as for Adore You, it stems from a similar feeling of “initial excitement” when you first start seeing someone new:

“It’s about a fish. And uh, I just had this fish and I just really liked it. And that’s kinda the whole story behind the song. I guess it’s kinda similar in the baseline to Watermelon Sugar in terms of just being about that initial excitement of just meeting someone and you’re like ‘take me!’ But, uh, yeah this is ‘Adore You.’ I’m gonna regret that one.”
