'Hocus Pocus 2' Is Officially In The Works - But Will The Sanderson Sisters Be Returning!?

Your spells worked, Hocus Pocus fans!

After years of speculation, it’s been revealed a sequel to the iconic (definitive, really) Halloween film is officially in the works at Disney Plus — and based on the little deets we know, it sounds like an absolute scream!

According to Collider, Jen D’Angelo, who served as a writer and co-producer on Workaholics, has been hired to pen the script for Hocus Pocus 2. Insiders tell the outlet D’Angelo is looking to find a way to bring back the Sanderson sisters, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.

Now, don’t get too excited yet: none of the OG cast are attached to the project as of now — but Disney is hopeful they’ll be involved with the sequel in some way. Whether that means they’ll come back to once again suck the lives out of the children in Salem or pass the broomstick off to a new trio of witches is unclear. (All we’re asking for is at least one spellbinding musical number.)
