What's Healthier? Peanut Butter Vs. Almond Butter

Peanut Butter Vs. Almond Butter
Ever wonder what the difference between peanut butter and almond butter is? Besides the obvious nut ingredient in each, almond butter is actually healthier for you!
First off, when selecting your spread of choice, it is always important to find the brand with the most natural ingredients. Meaning, no oils or fillers!
While it is important to always check nutrition labels, the difference isn’t overwhelmingly obvious. In a 2 tablespoon serving of each, you’ll get between 190-200 calories, 16-17 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 7-8 grams of protein and 2 grams of naturally occurring sugar.
However, what really counts are the micronutrients! Almond butter provides 40% your daily need for Vitamin E, 25% your magnesium and 8% of both your calcium and iron needs.
For those who aren’t aware of the benefits of Vitamin E, it is thought to be beneficial antioxidant that helps prevent heart disease, prevent degenerative eye disease, and aids healthy immune function.
Magnesium also lends help to a handful of healthy functions. It supports a healthy immune system, maintains normal muscle and nerve function, helps regulate blood sugar and blood pressure, and even keep bones strong.
Do your body a favor and try swapping out the peanut butter for some almond butter! Wouldn’t you rather be eating something that gives your body a healthier boost for your buck?
