James Corden Remembers Gene Wilder In Touching Late Late Show Tribute! Watch!

On top of being an inspiration to many of today’s top comedic minds, Gene Wilder was a genuinely wonderful person to those who had the pleasure of knowing him — even when he declined to appear on your late night show!
That’s what James Corden made sure his audience knew when paying tribute to the beloved Hollywood icon, who passed away on Monday due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.

On Monday’s Late Late Show, the late night host gushed over the comedic talents of the Blazing Saddles star, remembering meeting the actor when he came to one of Corden’s plays in New York.
And when Corden got his gig as the new host of the Late Late Show, he asked Wilder to be apart of a Willy Wonka sketch, and received the most polite, poetic “no” in the history of show business!
