Jason Bateman Offers Up Apology For Tone Deaf Jeffrey Tambor Defense: 'I Realize That I Was Wrong Here'

jason bateman apologizes for jeffrey tambor defense
Jason Bateman has backtracked his defense of Jeffrey Tambor.
As we previously reported, the Arrested Development star was dragged on Twitter after he seemingly excused his TV dad’s past temperamental behavior during a New York Times interview with his castmates. Per Tambor himself, he and onscreen wife Jessica Walter once had a major “blowout” due to his temper.

Although the ousted Transparent performer “profusely├óΓé¼┬ª apologized” to Miz Walter, it’s clear that this experience still resonates deeply with the industry vet, as it’s said she addressed the experience “through tears” during the Times sit down. To make matters worse, her costars — including Bateman, David Cross, and Will Arnett — responded to the tense conversation by cracking jokes and uttering excuses for Tambor.
Hence, this is why Bateman and co. were called out on social media for being tone deaf and inconsiderate AF! In an attempt to squash the controversy, the Ozark actor has since taken to Twitter to apologize.
He wrote in a series of tweets:

“Based on listening to the NYT interview and hearing people’s thoughts online, I realize that I was wrong here. I sound like I’m condoning yelling at work. I do not. It sounds like I’m excusing Jeffery. I do not. It sounds like I’m insensitive to Jessica. I am not. In fact, I’m horrified that I wasn’t more aware of how this incident affected her. I was so eager to let Jeffrey know that he was supported in his attempt to learn, grow and apologize that I completely underestimated the feelings of the victim, another person I deeply love├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and she was sitting right there! I’m incredibly embarrassed and deeply sorry to have done that to Jessica. This is a big learning moment for me. I shouldn’t have tried so hard to mansplain, or fix a fight, or make everything okay. I should’ve focused more on what the most important part of it all is├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥there’s never any excuse for abuse, in any form, from any gender. And, the victim’s voice needs to be heard and respected. Period. I didn’t say that and instead said a bunch of other stuff and not very well. I deeply, and sincerely, apologize.”

Well, we’re glad Jason’s able to see what an unbelievable ass he was being to Jessica! While it’s a habit difficult to break, we hope Bateman is able to curb his mansplaining ways before he gets himself into ANOTHER scandal.
What do YOU think?? Do you accept Jason apology??
