American Idol aired its season 23 finale on Sunday with a VERY special surprise guest: THE Jessica Simpson! And no, she wasn’t just there in the audience to watch, or even on the judging table to help crown a winner… She was ON STAGE!

That’s right! The 44-year-old dusted off her microphone with the help of former contestant Josh King to sing her 2005 version of Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made for Walking AND Blame Me from her new album Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1. Watch (below):

According to TV Insider, host Ryan Seacrest made it known this was Jessica’s first live TV performance in 15 years! And on social media, fans had various reactions:
