In case you didn’t know, Julia Roberts and Ryan Murphy are basically besties.
The Scream Queens creator directed the actress in Eat Pray Love back in 2010, and she co-starred in his award-winning HBO drama The Normal Heart — she also presented Murphy his award at last month’s amfAR Inspiration Gala!
Like all of Murphy’s besties, you might expect Roberts to appear on his hit horror anthology American Horror Story — but don’t get your hopes up!
It turns out that the 49-year-old has never asked the actress to film a scene for his FX horror show!

During the promotion of her new thriller Secret in Their Eyes, Roberts revealed why we won’t be seeing her in any upcoming seasons of AHS!
She explained:
“I’ll tell you why├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥because I can’t even get through the commercials. I am the most fitful scaredy cat. When the first American Horror Story came out, remember the first poster? I said to him, ‘OK, I curse you. I stop at a traffic light and I have to look at that thing on billboards. It gives me the willies. What is that? What is going on? What have you done?'”
We totally feel you, Jules — that first poster was scary af! She added:
“Ryan was like, ‘Oh, lady├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥you won’t even get through the commercials.’ I’m like, there’s no way.”
Though the actress is the polar opposite of her niece Emma Roberts, who has been an AHS veteran since season 3! Julia continued:
“I try to support my Emma, but I don’t like it.”
Noted! We won’t expect Julia to come to our next AHS marathon party.
