Twilight‘s Kristen Stewart is known to have a bit of an attitude on certain subjects — like what happens when you adapt a book into a film. And her time spent on Breaking Dawn is no different!
Even though there was no way to stay true to the book and maintain a PG13 rating (so the audience who read the books can actually watch the movies), K-Stew really tried to make it happen.
She explains to Entertainment Weekly her original take on the birthing scene:
It was more sympathetic or something when I played the scene with less energy, and it made it easier for him to tell the story. But in the book, Bella is screaming, ‘NOOOOO!’ And I did it like that — crazy and Exorcist-like. I was going for this weird mix of turning into the most feral mother you can imagine and also fighting for my own life. I mean, I was a nutcase. I was an absolute nutcase.
Unfortunately, the director had to switch it up a bit to get that coveted rating and K-Stew isn’t happy about it.
That’s what I’m really disappointed about — and I’ve talked about it with Bill.
she adds.
Aww, poor K-Stew. We know what she means, though. If that scene had been left in original form, it totally would have sealed the deal for Oscar consideration. Definitely.
