Lance Armstrong just can’t catch a break.
SCA Promotions, an insurance company in Dallas, Texas, is suing Lance over bonuses paid to him after winning the Tour de France.
The lawsuit said:
“By now, everyone knows that Lance Armstrong perpetuated what may well be the most outrageous, cold-hearted and elaborate lie in the history of sports.”
This is the second time Lance will face SCA in court.
SCA withheld bonuses due to Armstrong after doping suspicions first arose back in 2004.
Lance sued them for breach of contract and won a $7.5 million settlement.
He won because he lied under oath, swearing he “never” took performance-enhancing drugs.
Now that he’s admitted his doping, SCA is suing him for the $12 million they paid out to him during his career.
The problem is that when they settled with Lance in 2005, they agreed not to reopen the case.
So Lance’s attorneys will certainly be leaning on that for most of their case.
We wonder if it’ll get thrown out or not├óΓé¼┬ª
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
