We’d say that Nick Cannon is a DEFINITE upgrade!
Before Mariah Carey‘s love story with Nick began, Mariah was married to Tommy Mottola… and we all know how that worked out.
And now, in his effort to make his book a bestseller, the man who credits himself for Mariah’s success has admitted that he was obsessive and controlling with the world famous diva!
During an interview on Today about his book Hitmaker: The Man and His Music, Tommy said:
“Well I think that anyone that is successful becomes obsessive with what they are trying to succeed at. If it seemed like I was controlling let me apologize…It was absolutely wrong and inappropriate for me to become involved with Mariah, and I’m not saying this because there was a generation gap, I should [have] listened to the piercing voice of my shrink and maintained my distance.”
We wonder if Tommy would’ve apologize regardless of his new book?!
Probably not!!!
Tommy claims to be a changed man, but just recently, he bashed the diva’s decision to join American Idol.
If the 20-year-her-senior record executive is this obsessive with Mariah, we can’t even begin to guess how he treated the rest of the singers (*Cough Cough* Michael Jackson) he’s worked with!
We’re just so glad that she escaped into the arms of sweet Nick!!
We just hope he isn’t treating his current wife, Thalia, in the same abusive manner!
