Marie Callender’s Restaurants Shut Down

How would you like to get kicked out of a restaurant before you’ve even finished your meal?

That’s exactly what happened to customers eating at Marie Callender’s restaurants across the state of Washington over the weekend.

Said a Marie Calender’s manager, Mapp Chhim:

“I thought it was a big joke, because I was like, ‘I still have people in the restaurant,’ and they were like, ‘they need to leave.├óΓé¼Γäó There was a party of 25 in the back room. It was somebody’s birthday party, and I feel so bad that we like ruined the celebration.”

While the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday, there has been no official word from corporate headquarters as to exactly why they felt the need to shut down the restaurants so abruptly.

Said corporate spokeswoman Vivian Brooks:

“This was a very difficult decision to make. We certainly apologize to any guests in the restaurant. There are certainly a variety of factors that go into the decision-making process. I can’t go into that specifically. It is a well thought-out but a very difficult decision.”

So for now, Washington residents will have to get their chicken pot pies elsewhere!
