Hollywood experienced yet another tragic loss last week when Mary Tyler Moore passed away at 80 years old.
On Sunday, the Emmy-winning actress was laid to rest in Fairfield, Connecticut with a brief, intimate funeral service.
About 50 people attended, according to The Connecticut Post, which cited local police who worked as security for the service.

No expense was spared in laying the trailblazer to rest, as her family reportedly spent over $200,00 on the angel statue for Moore’s grave. Fairfield Police Lt. James Perez said of the intimate send off:

“It was very quiet, a small group. It’s a beautiful site that she’s at. It’s nice what the family did. It was a nice little send off for her.”

Though reports claimed a number of big stars planned to attend the funeral, including Mary’s longtime friend Betty White, Perez said the only celeb he recognized was Bernadette Peters — who stared with Moore in the 1990 TV movie The Last Best Year.
While Betty may have missed out on the ceremony, she paid tribute to the late legend along with many other Hollywood peers in the wake of her passing.

On Monday, it was revealed that Mary died from cardiopulmonary arrest, which was reportedly brought on by three other serious medical conditions.
According to the death certificate obtained by TMZ, the contributing factors to the actress’s passing were: aspiration pneumonia, hypoxia (lack of oxygen to her tissues), and diabetes mellitus.
Thought it’s technically not a “heart attack,” cardiopulmonary arrest is when the heart stops beating. So sad.
The death certificate shows Moore was pronounced dead at 2:15 PM on January 25. R.I.P., Mary.
