Betty White might be loved by many, but not by Sally Struthers!
The Gilmore Girls actress sat down for an interview on Let’s Talk About That! With Larry Saperstein and Jacob Bellotti on Monday to talk about her long career in the industry. But at one point during the episode, she suddenly brought up the late television icon — not to gush about her! No! She started slamming Betty for a not-so-great encounter they had!

It all started when Sally told the hosts that she lived “up the street” from the house used for the exterior of the Golden Girls home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Then the conversation took an unexpected turn as the All in the Family star said that she wanted to talk about Betty “now that she’s gone.” And again, she didn’t have the best things to say about The Proposal actress! Sally said:
“I know everybody loves her. They loved her so much. They signed petitions to get her to guest host Saturday Night Live. I know all that. I didn’t have such a great experience with her.”
She then proceeded to call Betty a “very passive-aggressive woman,” shocking both hosts! Jeez! And Sally did not stop there! She also claimed Betty once body-shamed her! What! The Emmy winner recalled while working on a pilot for a new game show at Betty’s house, The Carol Burnett Show alum asked her housekeeper to get the group something to eat. The employee then brought out a plate of cookies for all of them to enjoy — well, not all of them. Sally continued:
“Then the plate was set in the middle and it was cookies, I think. So I reached for a cookie and she said in front of everyone, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you dear, you don’t need a cookie.’ Totally fat-shamed me in front of the rest of the people in the room. And I thought, ‘Gosh, that’s not nice.’”
That is awful…
But was it really necessary to call her “passive aggressive” and tell this story years after Betty passed away? She can’t even address, apologize, or defend herself for what happened. It wasn’t even like the hosts asked her about Betty, either! She just started talking about the past situation herself! So, why? Why not let it rest at this point? Forgive and forget and all that! Hmm. What do YOU think, Perezcious readers? Let us know! And watch the podcast episode (below):
