There’s no place like Once Upon A Time — especially with a BRAND NEW couple for fans to ship!
Sunday’s episode of the fantasy series revealed the show’s first LGBT couple that executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis teased would appear in season five — and they already have an adorable couple name!
The fairy tale drama introduced it’s newest fan favorite couple Ruby (Meghan Ory) and Dorothy (Teri Reeves), whose fate was sealed with a spell-binding story that, of course, involved the power of “true love’s kiss.”

In the wake of Mulan (Jamie Chung) helping Ruby search for her wolf pack, the duo came across Dorothy in Oz — and the three teamed up to defeat the recently returned Wicked Witch (Rebecca Mader).

After Dorothy was put under a sleeping curse, Ruby headed to the Underworld to rescue her — and broke the spell by locking lips with her new love! Awwww!
Exec producers Horowitz and Kitsis assured fans that this new relationship wouldn’t be revealed in a “very special episode,” saying their goal was to make it “just as normal” as the show’s other pairings. They explained:

“True love’s kiss has been a staple of this show since the beginning. This past Sunday’s episode was just another example of how in a fairy tale, as in life, love is love.”

AH-Mazing!

The best part is that the producers have unintentionally dubbed the new couple their shipper name: Ruby Slippers — which was also the title of Sunday’s episode!
What did YOU think of the reveal? Catch the new romantic pair when Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC!
