This is just incredibly sad.
As we reported, former NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife Leah LaBelle tragically died in a Los Angeles car crash early Wednesday morning. He was 38 and she was 31.
Butler played for the Heat, Hornets, Clippers, Bulls, Raptors, Pacers, Wizards, and Spurs on the court during his professional career, which lasted until 2016. Leah placed 12th on the third season of American Idol in 2004. She was an R&B singer signed to Epic Records.
In response, many fans and athletes — as well as Pharrell — have taken to Twitter to express their condolences.

@leahlabelle , your spirit was just as your voice; beautiful. Moments like these leave us with so many questions. What I don’t question is how much you loved God, how much you love your life partner and where you guys are now. Sing Sis, sing. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾A post shared by Pharrell Williams (@pharrell) on Jan 31, 2018 at 2:06pm PST

Rasual Butler passing away in a car accident makes me sick. He was full of life and thought. He wanted nothing more than to be the best version of himself each day and to be kind to anyone he met

Saddened by the news and the loss of Rasual Butler and his wife Leah. Talk about a great dude and family man. I know he had many stops during his 13 year NBA journey, but he was beloved becasue of his work ethic in Indiana. New guardian Angels..

Rasual Butler was always very gracious, very pleasant, and still was in high regard by the Heat — more than a decade after he last played for them.
I’m just sad. No idea what else to say.
