Yes, it’s been two years since Chris brutally beat on Rihanna before the Grammys, but people don’t forget horrible things like that and in RiRi’s Rolling Stone interview, she was asked to talk about the repercussions of that night on her life and her decision to lift the restraining order she had against him.
In the interview, she points out the she was never going to “please people” no matter what her “decision” would’ve been, so ultimately, she had to do what was right by her and her conscience. She explained:
“That’s my decision…it doesn’t mean we’re getting married tomorrow. It doesn’t mean we’re gonna be in a relationship, or make up, or even talk ever again. It just means I didn’t want to object to the judge…What he did to me was a personal thing. It had nothing to do with his career. Saying [he can’t perform at awards show] definitely made it difficult for him. We don’t have to talk again ever in my life. I just didn’t want to make it more difficult for him professionally.”
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a little something we like to call class.
This is rising above, thinking of the well-being of someone else who’d she have every right to want vengeance against.
