While Nicki Minaj has been most recently writing off her much-publicized feud with American Idol co-judge Mariah Carey on its new season as just the result of different personalities, we think it’s pretty clear now that whatever the reasons may be that these two don’t get along…it started from the GET-GO!
Both the iconic diva and the rap sensation have been busy promoting the reality competition across the talk show circuit, as well as providing more details on all of the drama their disagreements has caused production, but this morning on The Today Show, longtime series host Ryan Seacrest jumped into the mix and informed Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie that even BEFORE cameras started rolling on the first day of production, it was WAR!
He explains:
“There was a bit of difference in opinion between Nicki and Mariah on the elevator ride up to our first day of shooting. And before that contestant came in they settled it, but on camera, so you’ll get to see some of the sparks right out of the gate this season. It’s not manufactured. These are two very, very spirited, strong individual performers who’ve had a lot of success that aren’t shy about their opinion regardless of what they may be about. This season I think you’re gonna see headlines about the contestants and the judges as well. It’s gonna be a two-parter.”
And we don’t our Mimi and Her Minajesty would have it ANY other way! LOLz!
