Simon Cowell Quits Idol

This will be Simon Cowell‘s last season of American Idol!

Now that he’s launching the X-Factor in America, which plans to debut on 2011, Simon will be busy serving as executive producer and judge.

And Idol may be doomed considering Fox has picked up the X Factor for broadcast, yet the network is planning three more season of AI. Although it seems like the same show, the difference is that X Factor splits the talent into four groups and each one is mentored by one of the judges.

Simon is walking away from $36 million per season!
