Steven Tyler's Behavior Warranted Apology

Really? Apologies are thrown around for everything these days!
On American Idol last night, they kicked off the show with an apology on behalf of rocker Steven Tyler‘s JOKING observation that a contestant’s last name (Muck) rhymed with a certain profane something.
Even Ryan Seacrest dropped that it was gonna go down earlier that day on his radio show!
The source says the apology read:

“American Idol would like to apologize for last week’s outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler. Mr. Tyler has been warned and assures us it will never happen again.”

We could understand if Stevie T had used the word in a non-joking manner, but come on! Why is everyone so sensitive??
Do U think he crossed a line??
