Joel Taylor, who starred in the Discovery Channel series Storm Chasers, died on Tuesday at the age of 38.
The cause of Joel’s death has not been revealed, although it is not believed to be storm chasing related.

The Elk City, Oklahoma native’s friends shared the sad news on social media. Reed Timmer, Joel’s best friend and former costar, paid tribute to his storm chasing partner with a touching message on Twitter, writing:
RIP my best friend and storm chasing partner, Joel Taylor. I am shocked and absolutely devastated by the loss of my incredible, caring friend. We chased so many intense storms, and I wish we could have just one more storm chase. I’ll miss you forever, Joel. We lost a legend pic.twitter.com/htN45t8wik

The two had been chasing storms together since 2008.
