Tiger King Star Carole Baskin Speaks Out About That Fake Jimmy Fallon Interview!

Carole Baskin reacts to her phony Jimmy Fallon interview!

Not gonna lie… we’re surprised Carole Baskin is reacting like this to that now-infamous fake Jimmy Fallon interview!

ICYMI over the weekend, the Tiger King star and Big Cat Rescue CEO recently did an interview that she thought was going to be on The Tonight Show. There was only one problem: the entire thing was a set-up by notorious YouTube pranksters Josh Pieters and Archie Manners, and Carole had no idea the “Jimmy” she was speaking with was actually a shrewdly-edited set of pre-recorded clips from other appearances! Oops!!!

The video itself hasn’t even been up on YouTube for 24 hours, and yet it’s already racked up 1.5 million views from around the globe. With it, there’s been a lot of reaction every which way about whether it was such a good idea to prank the woman who’s had to go into near-seclusion after receiving so many death threats due to her participation on the Netflix show.

Well, as it turns out, the end result of the incredible prank here isn’t nearly as bad as you might have been expecting! At least, not from Carole’s perspective!

Tiger King's after-show and reunion special on Netflix was seriously something to see!
Say what you will about Carole getting pranked, she’s spending her post-Tiger King life is WAY better than this guy… just saying!!! / (c) Joe Exotic/YouTube

The animal rights activist and high-profile big cat conservator had a rep release a statement to the media about the entire incident, and it sounds like she (a) had her suspicions early in the process, even if she didn’t let on, and (b) is actually laughing about the whole thing, anyway!

Baskin said in the statement (below):

“I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped. But had no idea it would turn out to be such a fun prank. It gave us a very welcome good laugh. I appreciate their cleverness and that they created their video in a way that I don’t feel was in any way mean-spirited.”

Wow! If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. And you have gotta laugh at yourself for unwittingly playing the fool every now and then, we suppose.

Besides, she’s right: Pieters and Manners never went off script and did anything mean-spirited, so at least they had their good judgment about them, ya know?!
