Tyla’s Stunning Met Gala Dress Made Of Sand Was CUT IN HALF After The Red Carpet! Watch It Happen!

Your jaws will drop at what Tyla did to her Met Gala dress after the red carpet!

The Water singer made an epic debut at the star-studded event this year, rocking a strapless, form-fitting Balmain gown made out of sand. Yes, actual sand! As Tyla told Vogue, she was inspired by “the sands of time.” She paired the dress with a purse shaped like an hourglass and a manicure that looked like water dripping from her fingertips. Check out her one-of-a-kind look (below):

Gorgeous! She fit perfectly with the night’s “Garden of Time” dress code and was one of the best dressed of the night! Of course, wearing a sand-sculpted masterpiece wasn’t easy — even if it was worth it in our opinion! In fact, it was so hard for Tyla to get up the famous steps at The Met that she had to be carried by several men! See it (below):

So, due to the difficulty of the gown, a change needed to happen once she stepped inside. And she didn’t just switch to a different outfit! Once Tyla got all the photos of the sand ensemble, she destroyed it! We’re not kidding, sadly. Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, grabbed a pair of scissors and chopped it in half!

He posted a video on Instagram of “what you didn’t see… inside the MET,” which showed him cutting off the entire bottom half of the piece. The end result? She now sported a mini dress. Check it out (below):

Wow! Check out a pic of the final result (below), too:

She still looks incredible! And it’s amazing that Olivier cut it to perfection! But just in case something happened during the process, sources inside the gala told Page Six that her team had a hotel robe ready. Fortunately, nothing went wrong!

However, it pains us to see such a beautiful piece of art like this dress chopped in half! We guess that is the price if Tyla wanted to move around and sit inside The Met comfortably — without having to be carried all night! Hmmm. Actually, being carried doesn’t sound too bad when you think about it. Especially after standing in heels for so long! LOLz!!

Reactions, Perezcious readers? Are you shocked that she and Olivier cut the gown? Sound OFF in the comments!
