Tyra Banks is coming back to TV, y’all!
Not only is the America’s Next Top Model host returning to TV for a new talk show, she’s planning on producing a docuseries revolving around the transgender community with VH1!
The docuseries titled, TransAmerica, will be an eight-episode show following a group of Chicago women who are united by their common characteristic of being transgender.
The series will explore their day-to-day lives, how they’re building their careers and how their sexuality has an impact on their daily life.
Carmen Carrera, a model and activist, is said to lead the five women in the hour-long series.
Tyra said of her new docuseries:

TransAmerica is a groundbreaking docuseries that will blow the roof off stereotypes and set the record straight as we experience the lives of these fun, stunning women. I am so happy to be a part of telling their fierce story.”

Executive VP of programing for VH1, Susan Levison, certainly agrees with Tyra’s statement.
She explains the docuseries is so much more than focusing on the transgender aspect, she said:

“It would be easy to focus on the transgender aspect, but this series is about so much more. This is a show about a group of compelling, gorgeous young friends who are on a unique journey while staying true to their authentic selves. We believe that message resonates.”

It does indeed!
People of all ages need to be reminded to stay true to themselves and not do what anyone else wants because they’re all perfect the way they are!
We can’t wait to see this docuseries when it airs at the end of this year or early 2015!
