YouTube Stars Forced To Hide From Deranged Fan In Deadly Home Invasion!

no title
This is one of the scariest things we can imagine!
YouTube stars Meg Turney and Gavin Free were forced to hide in their Austin, Texas home last month when an armed man broke in.
The man, who police later discovered had driven eleven hours from Albuquerque, New Mexico, turned out to be a deranged fan of Turney, a popular vlogger and video game streamer with over 340K subscribers.

Meg’s boyfriend may be even more well known as both a part of the Rooster Teeth family and with his own show, The Slow Mo Guys (see below), whose channel has over 10 million subscribers.
According to newly released New Mexico court documents, it all started on January 26, when Meg and Gav were awakened at around 3:40 a.m. by the sounds of a gunshot and glass breaking.
Meg called the police, telling them she and her boyfriend could hear the intruder from where they were hiding inside a closet.

Thankfully, the cops arrived on the scene quickly.
They found the car with New Mexico plates backing out of the driveway. The driver, later identified as Christopher Eric Giles, opened fire on the police who fired back.
Giles was killed, though authorities are still unclear whether his fatal gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Meg and Gav made the right call to hide; later review of security video led authorities to believe “it was apparent that Giles’ sole intent was to cause harm to someone who resides there.”
Police later found cell phone recordings made by Giles in which he made clear his obsession with Meg and hatred of her boyfriend. In one video, Giles said:

“I want Gavin Free to die alone, with no children.”

Eek.
Police said the 23-year-old Giles was described as “single, lonely and disturbed.”
It’s awful that he couldn’t get some kind of help instead.
We’re just so relieved Meg and Gav were unharmed. We can’t imagine how terrifying this must have been.
