At least Zach Braff knows when he’s wrong.
On February 9, Zach publicly apologized for an insensitive tweet he made about the bell hop outfit Pharrell Williams wore when performing Happy at Sunday’s Grammys.

In the controversial tweet, Braff compared the singer’s costume to that of a monkey in Oz the Great and Powerful.
While the actor attempted to make a comparison between their outfits, many people were outraged that he would draw a parallel between a monkey and a person of color.

The Scrubs star captioned the since deleted tweet:

“The Grammys are time-delayed in LA(?!) but someone just sent me this: #IWoreItBetter.”

Sheesh.
After an intense bout of backlash, Zach responded:

“I love Pharrell. I thought the outfit he wore was similar to that of my bell hop outfit in Oz. I apologize.”

While we don’t think Braff meant to intend any harm, he should have been aware of the negative connotation of his “joke”.
Lesson learned!
