It's a shame because he really does have an incredible voice. He sounds alot like Luther Vandross. Too bad the obsession with looks nowadays means alot of great voices aren't heard. Best wishes Ruben.

I am not suprised at all. Being a working professional musician for 20 + years I know the challenges. You can't just get up there sing karaoke and think your dun. Touring requires effort and tenacity. Once these people win they don't understand you have to work.
Well, J Records marketed him strictly to the Urban AC market, esp after "Sorry 2004" and that doesnt always lead to huge sales. He's got a great voice and is very humble. He'll be just fine, as he is now doing some theatre projects and working with his old group from Alabama.

a good frined of mine works fro WBLK in Buffalo New york and she was at promtions dinner with Ruben she said he is a DIVA, he ordered her to make his plate and made sevral statements to how famous he was. Being dropped by a certain label doesn't mean squat; he still has that velvet voice, and needs the right vehicle and promotion. The recording industry is flailing and fickle at the best of times, hasn't kept up with the times and the internet, and doesn't reflect Studdard's talent. Failing sales can reflect a lot of other things. He can still get a good band together and tour for a lot more money than a local wedding band. He can record here and there, and something could still stick here and there commercially. How many comebacks do artists have, all the time? The music industry is really tough and unforgiving for the majority, and only a very, very small minority make the big bucks.

I loved the 1st season of American Idol, but stopped watching season 2 when it became obvious that the judges were completely biased towards this fat slob. I have never even heard a single song by him and I'm glad his career never took off. He's lazy and disgusting. To compare him to Luther is blasphemy. This fat fuck doesn't have as much talent as one of Luther's turds.
Rueben has a good voice. The problem is that he has no personality. I think that's what doomed him more than anything else.

Unfortunately the audience picks people to win who are entertaining on tv but don't necessarily have a marketable sound for radio. Carrie Underwood was boring on the show but sounds great on the radio which is why she made it. Taylor Hicks was funny to watch but his CD sucks hence he has disappeared. They need to tailor the show to picking a radio artist not a HAM. Speaking of HAMS, whatever happened to that Greasy Greek guy? I thought he was supposed to have a tv show or something?

Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds sweet Italian chicken sausage, removed from casing
1 pound button mushrooms, sliced

I have seen him perform a couple of times. He has a great voice and personality. On stage he is quite the dancer. Do some research. He just finished up being on tour with Robin Givens called "Heaven, I Need A Hug" and will soon be in the national tour of "Ain't Misbehavin'"
