Nick Was Speeding AND Drinking!!!!

mx0063730__opt.jpg

We hope they have a whole team of expensive lawyers, the Hogans are gonna need it to get son Nick out of this shit pit!

Even though he's only 17 years old, Nick was arrested Wednesday morning in Tampa and will face FELONY charges of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.

Hogan was involved in a car crash in August that left his passenger and friend, who was not wearing a seatbelt, with permanent brain damage.

Though the Hogans keep trying to paint the crash as an "accident", police are telling a much different story.

This morning's arrest report included new details about the crash.

Detectives report that Nick was racing a second car, before the crash, at speeds of over 60 mph through the 40-mph zone, which was wet from recent rains.

While investigators concluded that the actions of the other car's driver were not a contributing factor in the crash, that driver, Daniel Jacobs, is being issued a summons to appear in court for reckless driving charges.

Additionally, and more damaging, police also cited Nick for having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher. Any BAC above 0.00 would be illegal for the 17-year-old.

That poor kid. And, no, not Hogan! That poor kid that's still in the hospital and brain dead.

Hopefully, justice will be served!

I can understand parents wanting to protect their children, BUT, part of protecting your children is teaching them that there are censequences for their actions. I don't think the family gets it… why the hell is this 17n year old snot nose driving a Ferrari or whatever it was? It was only a matter of time before he crashed. Unfortunately he hurt somebody so badly, that when he dies, the charges will be upgraded to vehicular manslaughter. Oh what a tangled web we weave when we aim to deceive…… let him own up to his crime!!!!!

what a little douge bag…whenever i drive with my seatbelt on..i, as a responsible driver, ask my passengers to wear their seatbelt. Ultimately it is his responsibilty to make sure his passengers are safe. AND, its unforgivable that he seems to think he is guiltless. Another case of fame and money causing someone to think that the law doesn't apply to them. Shame on Nick Hogan. He is a loser.

  17. That's right. says – reply to this

    17

"Everyone knows it was an accident; it certainly was not intentional — and John Graziano really should have been wearing a seatbelt, after all it is the law. So now, why are charges being filed? Let me guess: They want MONEY because their son chose to NOT wear a seatbelt, and was involved in an ACCIDENT? I am sorry for what happened to John Graziano, but he is the one who chose to not wear a seatbelt — Nick didn’t make him not wear it. And John Graziano was not brain damaged when he made the decision to NOT wear a seatbelt. Accidents are not anyone’s fault… Again, it was not INTENTIONAL. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT."

It is the drivers responsibility to make the passengers wear their seat belt, and for 17 year olds they should not be drinking in the first place…let alone driving while aclcahol was still left in his system. That poor kid is practically dead and the Hogan family is saying it is his fault. Sure he didn't want to wear his seat belt, but I am sure he did not want to be brain dead either. Nick hogan has has run ins with the law for speeding and with that repeat offenders must be given some punishment.

Nick, be responsible and own up to your crime.

You get on your blog and act like you're all outraged, using the right language to provoke people's emotions, but you don't actually *care.* And admittedly, neither do I. Who actually cares about rich spoiled teens racing cars around and smashing them up and injuring themselves? Rich spoiled Hollywood teen spawns of celebs contribute nothing to this society, and live off of the benefits of their parents' famous names, drinking, drugging, f*ucking, drugging, partying, drugging, shopping, drugging, clubbing, racing around like idiots, drugging, never having to work real jobs, completely removed from the rest of the real world society. Drugging. So stop acting like you really care, cuz you know you don't.

When are those idiot police officers going to take that douche-bag's license away? They're just asking for that tool to kill someone.

An accident? Yes, that kid should have been wearing a seatbelt but the jack ass driving the car should have been more careful with his driving. Plain and simple, Nick Hogan's license SHOULD have been revoked a while ago with the numerous speeding tickets he SHOULD have been cited. Regardless of whether or not it was an "accident", Hogan needs to be held accountable for his actions. Even though it seems to appear otherwise, he's NOT above the law just because he's a celebrity's kid.

    59

I work for a City Prosecutor in another state, and I cannot believe how things seem to be done in California. In my state, drivers (especially those involved in accidents) are immediately given breathalyzer tests ON THE SCENE, and are IMMEDIATELY arrested. If the suspect refuses to give the test, they STILL IMMEDIATELY GO TO JAIL FOR REFUSAL. I cannot understand why this "investigation" took so long.

Nick Hogan should have been arrested ON SCENE.. we also have "absolute sobriety laws", which means persons under 21 cannot have ONE DROP of alcohol in their system. For those of u shocked he is arrested for a .02, that's why he is in trouble. In my state, he would've been tested at the scene, arrested after seeing he blew .02, and he would've immediately been charged with a crime regarding the injuries his friend suffered. Our investigations don't take months to happen.

Is it just California, or is it just for RICH, CELEBRITY SUSPECTS that these "investigations" take so long???

  60. Lily says – reply to this

you know its very typical of people to want to blame others for everything. When in reality, John knows how much Nick loves speeding and it was OBVIOUS that this wasn't his first time speeding, PLUS, Nick chose not to wear a seatbelt which was his own life risk. So in reality, you guys really need to stop blaming nick and only nick

I understand he was a fuckup for doing this, but he is not the ONLY one at fault here.

  67. Jenny says – reply to this

You know, it might be John's own fault that he wasn't wearing a seatbelt, provided alcohol..but you know what? He's PAYING for that. He is suffering consequences for his mistakes. I'm sure he'd rather be looking at jailtime than to be a damn vegetable the rest of his life!

.02???? Wtf. Not to make light of anything but that's seriously nothing. No one could possibly be impaired to drive with a .02bac. That could seriously be from listerine or scope. What a joke! I thought it was going tobe a story about him speeding at 100mph while drunk. Hardly. Who doesn't drive 60 in a 40mph??? I'm going to have to side w/ the Hogans on this one. I truly believe it was an accident. Especially if the road was wet. I spun out on a turn when it was raining once. But my heart goes out to the poor boy, John Graziano, and his entire family. Let this be a lesson to kids. Don't speed. Even if it's not that fast, someone could end up brain damaged. Such a tragedy.

I guess he was too cool to wear a seatbelt. I would know because I've went without it a few times too, but never got into a car with a drunk driver either.
This Nick kid needs help. His parents are demented morons who should be concerned about a decent upbringing for their child, NOT more money and reality shows to spoil these kids and let them go buck wild with no consequences for their actions. And why the hell did they buy him a sports car??? I'm sorry, but kids that age are too immature to get behind the wheel. All they think about is racing and looking cool. He should have driving privileges revoked until past 21. And his parents are definitely the problem. Too many rights and privileges that are undeserved.

Unfortunately BLAINE knows nothing about Nick because if he did he would know that wasn't a teletubby he is carrying it was a baby doll that his parents MADE him carry because they wanted him to learn responsibility, and that was long before the wreck, so get the facts straight before you start pointing fingers. All these people posting comments saying Nick's parents didnt' teach him CRAP/responsibility I bet Nick and Brooke have had more responsibility lessons from their parents that any other show biz daughter/son out there…..Just because he got caught up in a car racing Hobby when he was 16 doesn't exactly make him the devil…. and yes I believe Nick should be held accountable but I don't think it should ruin the rest of his life. I am almost postive that Nick is unbelieveably sorry for what he has done. I'm sure we all broke the law when we were 17 and if you say you didn't then you are a LIAR breaking the law is breaking the law whether you went over the speed limit, drank underage, didn't wear your seatbelt, stayed out past curfew, even 5 miles over the speed limit is breaking the law so dont' say you have NEVER done it!!! Unfortunately for Nick he will have to live with this for the rest of his life….don't judge him only God can.

Meh, I don't know what will actually happen, but if his father wasn't who he is, he'd probably do 6 months to a year.

Funny thing, powerful/affluent parents like to bail their kids out of these situations, naturally (take that literally or not literally) but the thing is, jail is the best choice here. Nobody learns shit from raking leaves at the old folks home and paying a fine. I did the same shit when I was a kid, got 4 months in prison, and was one of the most valuable and rewarding experiences of my life. Granted it sucked, but it was worth it.

BTW: Pretty Princess, that was one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Not that I don't agree with your frustration, but I'm sure he had full coverage because I doubt the vehicle was in his name (even if it was, I'm still pretty sure he had full coverage). I don't know what state minimum in CA is, but in Washington it's 50k 100k and most people with full coverage pay 100/300, and for like an extra 20 bucks a month you can up that as far as a mill. I'm confident any injuries will be paid for, and I don't think this has anything to do with Hogan's claim to fame. There are plenty of fucked up celebs for a kaleidescope of reasons and backgrounds. Nick's a dumb kid who made a dumb mistake, nothing more. Happens every day.

The baby doll was from an episode where his parents was trying to teach him about safe sex. The doll simulated a real baby (crying, hungry etc). He had to keep it with him at all times for I weekend, or something like that.

    Re: nurse
brain dead equates having your higher cognitive functions impaired. His frontal cortex might be damaged while the brain stem still active. he might still be alive, but not able to make sense of the world, not able to perceive or even process simple stimuli, thus brain dead.

Wasn't Nick a professional driver with a racing team & sponsors? He should be more experienced than an average driver and held to a higher standard. No wonder he was charged as an adult.

Re: Lily – You're acting as if we don't know what "Kapitalism" is when you can't even spell it?? Newsflash honey, it's Capitalism. With a C.

And you think that we should just release people who drive recklessly? And you're calling us stupid. Would you say the same thing for a man who beats his wife or kids?? With your logic we should let those people get away becuase "Oh, he must be feeling terrible." Would you still be saying the same thing if he killed and innocent person? OF COURSE HE WOULD FEEL BAD BUT THAT IS NO FREAKING EXCUSE TO LET HIM GET OFF SCOT FREE. Ugh, if there's one thing I don't like about Europe are judgemental, ignorant, retarded fatheads like you. I guess this is solid evidence that America isn't the only place in the world with idioits.

Anyways, although I do feel terribly sorry for him (the passenger not Nick) it sort of was his own fault what happened. Like COME ON, if I was with a spoiled celebrity kid who has no regard for the rules and thinks he can do whatever he wants, and is notorious for his terrible driving habits, I wouldn't even get in the car with him, let alone not wear a seat belt! Like I said before I feel bad for the passenger but he was an idiot for not telling Nick to give it a rest.

And if it was the passenger who coaxed Nick into it, he should be ashamed of himself and Nick should have been smart enough not to gamble with someone's life just for a few minutes of pleasure. This is what is wrong with teenagers today, they think they are invincible and can do whatever they want without consequences. My dad definately didn't grow up middle or lower class but when he got his first car it wasn't some tricked out Italian number. Jeeze.

Re: jp – WOW so much hateful remarks. GET A LIFE #1 .02 blood alcohol level is literally nothhing. #2 60 in a 40 is insignificant. More of a twist of fate and that can hapen to anyone. NOONE is perfect, its a shame instead of hating on this poor child do something more productive wih yourself. The kogan family is NOT even close to being trash, they try very hard to disipline their children and have done a decent job. This kid WASNT drunk.. he was just going slightly faster than speed limit.. and WHO DOESNT DO THATespecially at 17.
